The Market Square Tavern in Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia was built in the 18th century and was a popular meeting place for Virginia politicians like Thomas Jefferson and Patrick Henry. This photograph is part of a collection of composite images of historical buildings and structures combined with views of the Milky Way taken at a different location with the camera aimed in the same direction. Due to light pollution, the Milky Way is no longer visible to 90% of the population in the US, so this series of images will allow viewers to see historic sites as visitors would have experienced them at the time the site was first built or viewed.
